But what risks can you actually get insured for?
Fire is the most obvious risk but a good insurance policy should take care of a lot more than that. Damages caused by burst pipes, storms (e.g. wind, hail, lightning, snow pressure), broken glass, electrical incidents, extraordinary natural events (e.g. earthquakes, avalanches, flooding, mudslides) and theft can be insured as well. Building

Catastrophic events
Earthquakes, avalanches, mudslides, high water and flooding, backwater from the sewer system, etc.
Theft
In the event of burglary, the value of what is stolen will be reimbursed and the repair of burglary damage will be paid.
